Yerba Buena, 2011: Only Flights To All Places Where The Flowers Are Blooming

Nico is on a plane. Nico hates flying because everyone hates flying, it’s objectively awful, but also she’s grown to kind of love it. She likes the strange art that decorates the fucking endless stretches of moving walkway that go nowhere. She likes the garbage food she has to eat to live through layovers. She likes the unholy hour of the world she sees when she wakes up to make her flight.

A gorgeous flight Attendant in a gorgeous uniform of orange blouse and cream skirt and gold necklace gives nico a cup of water. Nico feels aware of her body, not in a great way, even though the flight attendant is really cool and nice. Do only businessmen fly on Orange Apple Air. She looks around and yes. She feels like she’s living in a parallel universe and due to a trick of the atmosphere is temporarily able to see the denizens of Business Zone. The flight attendant can interact with both Nico and the fearsomely similar businessmen but politely doesn’t do anything that would verify their existences to each other. Nico has decided that she loves this woman forever.

Nico gets out of the Business Zone and the universe smells entire of jasmine.
